inês osório (Porto, 1984).
Portuguese artist and designer, living between Porto nd Brussels.
Her practice explores the boundaries between the disciplines of Sculpture, Drawing and Design.
Since 2021 investigates the role of Art in the production of urban place, in the scope of the PhD research at FAUP at the Architectural Doctoral Program "Urban Forms & Dynamics" - research founded by FCT Doctoral Research Grant, since 2022.
As a visual artist, she develops a body of work that reflects on the dynamics of contemporary society as an interdependent and changing whole. Her works materialize in a principle of repetition of gesture, which is revised as a constituent of his work methodology: logic constructions in which the cyclical process generates an accumulation of elements, resulting in the composition of parts as a whole.
The materials and techniques are developed seeking a search for the sculptural dimension of Drawing (as a constructive thought process), in an attempt to explore the three-dimensionality of supports and the potential connection between the two fields of expression - Sculpture and Drawing.
Since her training in Sculpture at the Fine Arts of Porto and Barcelona (2002-2007), she has addressed themes that express contemporary urban society, the interaction of the individual in a network, his identity formation VS social environment, psychosocial interference and other mass phenomena associated with our human evolution as a species.
During her Master's Degree in Sculpture (2007-2009 FBAUP), her practice developed around the "expanded field of sculpture" (Krauss, 1979), creating large-scale penetrable bodies: habitable sculptures, spatially constructed under an interdependent logic and systemic, works that are defined based on the architecture of each place.
In addition of co-founding ATELIER OCO in Porto, in recent years she has been working in parallel on functional projects, since her Postgraduate Degree Studies in Furniture Design (2014-IPP), trying to rethink everyday life through the formal and functional exploration of objects and spaces, developing a critical and creative work in both areas of activity (Art & Design) on a freelance basis, occasionally collaborating with companies, design brands and institutions.

inês osório (Porto, 1984). ^
